| The Characters Lorenz Keber After much soul searching, he leaves the sanctity of the priest hood to pursue the true love of his life, Katharina Elisabeth. Katharina Elisabeth Becoming his loving, obedient wife, a church going, strict catholic, she bears him twelve children. Tragically, three die at birth. The proud parents of nine healthy children, together they raise four sons and five daughters.
The Children Born in the Keber Wine dynasty, living the privileged life of the upper class, their sons would be educated in the finest universities in Europe. Groomed to be the leaders of society one day they would be ready to reign over the family fortune. Karl and Franz would become prominent lawyers. Rudi would be punished for choosing to be a simple farmer. Toni chooses a profession in politics which would prove to be fatal at an early age. The five young ladies, Kata, Elisabeth, Hilde, Gerda and Gisela were useful around the house, helping with cooking, sewing and child-raising. To meet the requirement of the social etiquette of proper young ladies they attend music and art classes, anything to attract the right young men of social breeding. Trained to be the perfect housewives they would be ready to serve their new husbands, the masters of the universe. |
