The bizarre story of the Keber family dynasty is an ill-fated saga, reckless and all embracing in its contents, it has a topsy turvy sense of life's spinning out of control. This is quick-action paced book, a complex story of deceit, corruption, violence and greed. It was based on a powerful curse that was put on the entire family by a disgruntled relative. As the curse spanned two continents, this surreal, fictional novel, based on historical facts covered almost one hundred years in a blend of fabulous and political storytelling. This book is dedicated to preserve my aunt's dignity and getting even with the injustice of her life. Born into luxury, she died like a bag lady. As I pondered the question on how to overcome the negative, blind faith was the impetus that stirred my emotions and finally drove me to go on. A promise I made to Elisabeth Berg holding her ice cold hand, as she lay in the coffin, gave me the strength and the anticipation to try to reverse the injustice of the sad faith that had befallen her and the rest of the Keber family. Praying, I held onto the promises of God, and with any luck and the great spirit and determination of my Aunt to infuse me, I'm sure I'll succeed. Back in Germany, as the years fell away, stringing through the numbing shock of events, with the Keber family falling to the depths of despair, as the last of the years of their lives stretched out like a maze of horrors, as Satan's mayhem had commanded their lives, the haunting predictions of the curse had all come through. Here is the USA, as my Aunt's life had changed from diamonds to dust, from fantasy to dementia, vacillating wildly between hanging onto the old world values and trying to adapt to her cruel surroundings, she was being pulled down viciously to the underbelly of doom. Consequently, this book is a grand-psycho-biographical puzzle, connecting tragic events both in the USA and Germany, especially during the war years with weird coincidences in the families professional and private lives, as their fantasy-infused dreams quickly turned disastrous on both sides of the Atlantic. May God help us all. As the end suggests an ironic parable of death and destruction, it resonates chillingly as the novel approaches its violent and catastrophic conclusions both in the USA and Germany. For the books contents, in a marriage of historical analysis and fiction, I did a lot of fact checking to avoid anachronisms, for it is very hard to get the basic warp and woof of historical accuracy, especially during the war years in Germany.
